Contract awarded to Penticton company for Osoyoos water twinning

The Town of Osoyoos is looking towards a Penticton company for winning the contract to twinning a section of waterlines.

The Town of Osoyoos is looking towards a Penticton company for winning the contract to twinning a section of waterlines.

TwinCon Enterprises Ltd.’s bid of $2,671,950.12 for the work was the lowest of the 17 bids tendered to the town.

The price for the bid includes taxes, and a $60,000 contingency for the project.

The project entails installations of approximately 4.8 kilometres of 100 - 250 mm diameter PVC watermain, 1.2 km of 19 - 50 mm diameter water service tubing, 79 new water services, hydrants, water meters, air release valves and automatic flush valves.

Following the installation of the water lines, the contractor will also be responsible for 10,410 square metres of pavement surface restoration.

Eight of the 17 bids came from companies based in the Okanagan.

The most expensive bid for the contract came from Chilliwack based Metric Civil Construction for $6,347,712.00.
