In past years, members of the Summerland Fire Department were present at the Summerland Festival of Lights to collect donations for the annual Toys and Toonies for Tots and Teens gift drive. This year, because of the COVID-19 pandemic, the festival will not be happening, but the annual toy drive will proceed. Cash and new unwrapped toys accepted until Dec. 10 for Toys and Toonies for Tots and Teens

The annual Toys and Toonies for Toys and Teens drive will proceed this year, but the event has been modified as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Summerland Fire Department and the CIBC staff in Summerland are sponsoring the annual drive.

“As we adapt to these unprecedented circumstances, we’ll continue to serve our communities as best we can,” a news release from the toy drive states.

Cash donations and new unwrapped toys will be accepted at the Summerland Fire Hall and the Summerland CIBC branch until Dec. 10.

Gifts will be distributed under the direction of the Summerland Food Bank.

Staff at the CIBC branch will do the shopping and sorting of gifts.

This is the 33rd year for the annual toy drive.
