The Penticton Ribfest has received some financial support from the Penticton Hospitality Association to encourage even more visitors to the second annual event.

Penticton Ribfest organizers are busy planning the event scheduled to be held June 30-July 3 and expect the second annual event to be even bigger and better than the first.

“The PHA is happy to support the Rotary Club of Penticton and the Ribfest because we saw what the inaugural event did for Penticton last year,” said Barb Haynes, president of the PHA. “Our goal is to support events that encourage visitation and enhance the visitor experience. The Penticton Ribfest does both and we are proud to partner with them again this year.”

Ribfest organizers are planning a long weekend of family fun at Okanagan Lake Park. Locals and visitors can look forward to sampling world class barbecue from championship barbecue teams from across Canada, non-stop entertainment, a dedicated Kid Zone and the “Rib Cage” beverage garden.

“The first annual Penticton Ribfest was a resounding success,” said Barb Hoolaeff, chair of the event. “We are now tweaking the event, adding to the program and building on that success. We believe that the word has travelled and we will see more out-of-town visitors as a result”.

“Penticton Ribfest provided a weekend of great entertainment and family fun in Penticton’s downtown core.  The event is an excellent addition to our community calendar and member accommodators are always happy to have entertainment options for their guests,” said Haynes.
