Penticton residents will soon have an opportunity to question three of the city’s MLA candidates in the upcoming provincial election.
The Penticton Chamber is hosting a virtual candidates forum on Thursday, Oct. 8 from 7 to 8 p.m.
The forum, which can be viewed on Zoom or Facebook Live, is hosted by the Penticton Chamber, JCI Penticton and HEK Yeah Media.
The focus of the forum is business related but the general public is encouraged to participate. Three of the four Penticton candidates have confirmed they will be attend including BC Liberal candidate Dan Ashton, NDP candidate Toni Boot and Libertarian Party candidate Keith MacIntyre. BC Green Party candidate Ted Shumakers had a previous engagement and is unable to attend.
Originally, the Chamber was going to host two forums on Thursday, one at 3 p.m. and at 7 p.m. But due to fewer people being able to attend the 3 p.m. forum, they opted to cancel that one.
The Chamber is asking people to register for the 7 p.m. forum as soon as possible so they have an idea of numbers. When registering, it also gives people an opportunity to pose a question to the candidates.
The meeting will follow the same format as most all-candidates meetings, with each candidates making opening remarks, followed by answering questions.
