The fun is officially underway at Penticton's outdoor rink for this year's edition of Frost Fest, the city's annual winter carnival.

Members of the BCHL's Penticton Vees and the team's mascot, Harvee, were on the ice at 8:45 a.m. to get the festivities started.

Players from the Penticton Minor Hockey Association (PMHA) will join the Vees for a skill competition at 10:30 a.m. before the Glengarry Skating Club holds its "introduction to figure skating" at 11:30 a.m.

Other events on the outdoor rink Saturday include:

• Upper Dek Vees and First Responders game - 1:15 to 2:15 p.m.

• Penticton Vees and BCHL alumni game - 3 to 4 p.m.

Frost Fest events are also planned across the city, notably inside Gyro Park where a Kidzfest Family Zone runs until 5 p.m.
