From noon to 3 p.m. at the Penticton IGA store on Government Avenue the public can help out the annual Kidney Walk Penticton (South Okanagan).

During that time people can get lunch, a freshly-cooked hot dog and a pop.

As well, $5 Purdy’s chocolates will also be available to purchase.

The walk itself takes place at Gyro Park, Sunday June 2 starting at 9 a.m. and the event raises money for the Kidney Foundation of Canada, B.C. and Yukon Branch.

Every year, about 15,000 volunteers and participants gather at Kidney Walks in communities throughout the country to raise awareness and funds for those affected by kidney disease.
