Anyone in search of a mammoth tusk or astronaut suit? Maybe an Andy Warhol painting?
The Penticton Art Gallery is gearing up for their annual live art auction fundraiser, and among the many pieces of art are some other interesting and unique pieces of history.
The live portion of the auction is scheduled to take place at Three Sisters Winery on Sept. 29.
Pre-bidding is currently available online until September 28, and there has already been $3,080 raised of the auction’s $25,000 goal.
The gallery will feature not only a wide variety of art, from pieces by Andy Warhol to pieces by local artists, but pieces from history such as certified authentic Apollo test flight program flight suit owned and worn by Apollo 15 astronaut Col. James Irwin.
The oldest item by far is the four-and-a-half foot mammoth tusk, which was dug up out of the permafrost in the Yukon 20-years ago. The tusk is currently sitting at its starting bid of $1,750.

The online bids for the auction items will roll over into the silent and live auction on Sept. 29th.
In addition to the auctions, there will be dinner from one of three food trucks, and two bottles of wine per table during the live auction.
Tickets for the auction are available for $75 for non-members of the Penticton Art Gallery, and for members it is $65 a ticket.

Online bidding is available on 32auctions.com, under PAG’s 44th Annual Auction.
The funds go to support the continued operation of the Penticton Art Gallery, which is currently playing host to Canadian multi-talented artist Buffy St-Marie.
