Naramata wineries support program

Portion of sales on Dec. 1 and 2 will go to the Penticton and District and Community Resources Society Family Assistance Program

Wineries from The Naramata Bench Wine Association and The Naramata Store have partnered with The United Way and Penticton and District Community Resources Society to open their doors and their hearts

From noon to 5 p.m. on Dec. 1 and 2, 10 per cent of all wine and gift sales over the two-day period will be given to the PDCRS Family Assistance Program in partnership with the United Way.

“We are so grateful to our neighbours for their continued support of our products, as a group, we wanted to share the spirit with families who deserve a little extra during the holidays,” said Miranda Halladay, president of the Naramata Bench Wineries Association. “Our wish is that opening for two days will generate a significant donation to our community partners.”

“The PDCRS Family Assistance Program gives hundreds of individuals, families and children help right now”, notes Tanya Behardien, executive director, PDCRS. “We are so grateful to be the recipients from these incredibly generous wineries and The Naramata Store. To have most of these local wineries reopen for business and share this abundance with our families, is a magical way to celebrate the holidays.”

“The United Way has the privilege of working with some of the finest social service leaders anywhere. Collectively, they are making our region safer and stronger for our most vulnerable citizens”, says Riley Gettens, director, United Way. “So, when a business association like the NBWA steps up in this way, it is the final piece of the puzzle that makes the big picture complete.”
