New two-day pass for Fest of Ale

Tickets are now on sale for the 21st Annual Okanagan Fest of Ale, taking place April 8 and 9.

Tickets to the 21st Annual Okanagan Fest of Ale, one of the Pacific Northwest’s largest and longest running consumer craft beer and cider tasting events are now on sale.

The two-day event features great entertainment, fabulous food and an opportunity for over 5,000 beer and cider enthusiasts to sample a diverse and delicious selection of craft brews, cask ales and quality ciders from 50 exceptional craft breweries.

The 2016 Fest of Ale takes place in Penticton from April 8 to 9. Penticton also has a growing reputation as a craft beer destination.

Three innovative craft breweries and a popular brewpub can be found within the city itself, with an increasing number of craft cideries and breweries throughout the region.

New to the festival is a two-day weekend pass.

“Over the last three years the number of craft brewers participating at the festival has nearly doubled, as has the number of samples available for tasting,” said Fest of Ale Society vice president and marketing director, John Devitt.

Priced at $47, the two-day pass represents a savings of 20 per cent over two single day admissions. As a standalone ticket the two-day weekend pass is for those interested in sampling the wide variety of craft beer and cider available at the event in a responsible way at an affordable rate; and for those interested in a weekend getaway is offered in conjunction with ticket and accommodation packages.

2016 festival guests are certain to enjoy the return of the outdoor tasting area and on-site store.

“Response to the outdoor addition and onsite store, both implemented last year as a part of the event’s 20th anniversary celebration, was overwhelmingly positive” said Devitt, “It allowed room for a record number of brewers and offered patrons a chance to enjoy the event in a whole new way plus the added bonus of, literally, being able to take home their favourite festival memory.”

Based on the success of last year and early interest this year, organizers are expecting a full house and encourage you to buy your tickets soon as not to miss your chance to sip, savour and celebrate the best in craft beer at the 2016 Okanagan Fest of Ale.

Tickets to the event are available online at www.ValleyFirstTix.com or in-person at the Valley First Box Office and The Penticton and Wine Country Visitor Centre .Single Day Admission $29. Full event details can be found at www.FestofAle.ca.

Operating as a non-profit society, and managed by a volunteer board of directors, the Okanagan Fest of Ale Society hosts an annual consumer craft beer and cider tasting that functions to support and promote the growing world of quality craft brewery products, promote local tourism and support charitable organizations within the RDOS.
