Oliver Fire Department celebrates 100 years with the community

The fire hall was packed with people for the anniversary bash

Despite some rain, the Oliver Fire Department celebrated its 100th birthday with the whole community.

The party on July 9 brought out plenty of people to the fire station, where kids got their chance to get a little taste of being firefighters with challenges set up by the department.

In addition to the hotdog barbecue and celebratory cake, people were treated to fire demonstrations and tours of the fire hall.

The highlight of the day was the performance by the Canadian country Tanner Olsen Band later that evening.

The band is set to play at Calgary Stampede later this summer and has previously played at iconic Vancouver venue Roxy’s.

Ahead of the Tanner Olsen Band, other performances played on despite a downpour at the beginning of the evening’s concert.
