With over $4,000 raised for local food banks, it was another tax season of giving at Long-Haggerty Robertson LLP.

The accounting firm recently organized its second annual Tax Season Food Bank Drive, with over $2,300 and 1,000 pounds of food donated to Penticton’s Salvation Army alone.

Other food bank locations in Oliver, Osoyoos, Keremeos, Vernon and the new purple pantry in Penticton combined to receive an additional $742 as a result of the fundraiser.

“Thank you for all the support in our second annual food drive,” representatives from the firm told community members in an announcement. “We more than doubled last year’s total, with approximately $4,000 value of food, toiletries and cash.”

Event organizers added that over $10,000 in discounts were provided to help community members in need.
