The Penticton Art Gallery will be hosting a teen studio art program during the school year.

From September to June, the Art Gallery will be hosting a weekly program to help students develop their art skills.

Held Tuesdays between 5:30 and 7:30 p.m., the program will focus on physical arts; painting, printmaking, drawing, sculpting and ceramics.

“[We] developed this program as a way for youth who are interested in the arts to develop their technical skills and creative voices outside of the school setting,” the Art Gallery said in an email to Penticton Western News.

Despite COVID-19 restrictions, the Gallery stated the program will be hosted in-person in its Education Space.

All students participating in the program will be featured in the Gallery’s Studio Art Gallery Exhibition at the end of May 2022.

For Art Gallery members, the program will cost $65 a month, or $75 a month for non-members.

The program will be full-commitment and not month-to-month.

The program starts on Sept. 7 and will accept students aged 13 to 18.

Applicants can register be either calling the Art Gallery at 250-493-2928 or in person.
