Donation will go towards electrical upgrades at Critteraid

A Penticton-based financial cooperative made a commitment to animal safety this week through a $22,609 donation.

Valley First, a division of First West Credit Union, has gifted Summerland animal rescue Critteraid with money to address various safety issues including making some important electrical upgrades in the barns.

“It’s difficult to put into words just how much this donation means to our organization and more importantly the animals which we help every day,” said Lori Stewart, the president of Critteraid.

“This tremendous gift allows us to do what we are so very passionate about, saving animals and creating a legacy for tomorrow, so they have a solid foundation to continue.”

The non-profit organization is making electrical upgrades to the barns to ensure animals stay warm during the winter months.

“Critteraid is such a big part of our community, and it’s exciting to see this donation help such passionate people fueling an important cause,” said Valley First president Paulo Araujo.
