Penticton brewery hosting movie nights in support of Apex skiers

A pair of B.C.-made, ski-themed movies will be played at Slackwater Brewing this month

Get excited about the upcoming ski season, thanks to a pair of upcoming movie screenings at a Penticton brewery in support of Apex Mountain athletes.

Slackwater Brewing is hosting premiers of B.C.-made, ski-themed films on Nov. 17 and 24, with all proceeds set to go to the Apex Freestyle Club. The club is fundraising to purchase a landing bag and to have facility management.

Slackwater will play “Feel Real” this Thursday, Nov. 17, an original, athlete-driven production tailored for avid skiers.

On Nov. 24, Slackwater wraps up its November movie nights with “Anywhere From Here,” a film that showcases some of the best skiers in the world.

Doors on both nights open at 6:30 p.m., with people expected to have their popcorn and beverages ready for the film’s start at 7 p.m.

In partnership with Freestyle BC and the respective movie production companies, tickets at Slackwater for each event will be $10.

The brewery is raising funds to support the development of youth skiers and future athletes in Penticton.

Tickets can be purchased on Slackwater’s website or at the door.

All seating is first come, first serve.
