The elevator at City Hall is broken and because of supply issues, it’s not known when it will be working again, said the city in a media release.
With the elevator at City Hall closed for an unspecified amount of time, arrangements are being made to accommodate those with mobility challenges who wish to attend city council meetings in person, said the release.
For council meetings and public hearings, Board Room C – on the main level of City Hall – will be open to members of the public who wish to attend in-person and proceedings will be broadcast into the room. Those wishing to ask questions, will have the opportunity.
As well, the public is reminded that everyone can view or participate in council meetings and public hearings by watching the live stream or via ZOOM webinar.
The duration of the elevator closure is still to be determined, dependent on availability of required parts from the manufacturer.
