The Penticton Elks Lodge made a $6,000 donation to the Penticton Salvation Army Friday (Jan. 29).

The Elks Lodge is a national, fraternal and charitable organization that promotes and supports community needs through volunteer efforts of local members.

The donation will go a long way to provide supplies for the Salvation Army Food Bank, said Salvation Army volunteer coordinator Rosemarie Cargill.

This year has been particularly challenging for the Salvation Army as more people are depending on their services due to the economic impacts of the pandemic.
