Penticton firefighters are beating this heat wave by challenging all kids to the ultimate water fight and they’re bringing the big guns. The showdown takes place July 28 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Penticton Secondary sports field.

As the mercury continues to rise, be sure to slap on the sunscreen and head down for some water-filled fun. Come prepared with your water pistols, buckets and other spray toys because firefighters will have their fire hoses and truck ready to spray.

And, if you’re low on water guns, there will be spares available so everyone can get a good soaking. While the spray will be flying, there will also be bottled water provided.

(Note: If the fire department gets called away, the water fight will be rescheduled.)

Last year, firefighters had to cancel last minute because they were called away to a large apartment fire in downtown Penticton. The water fight was rescheduled.
