On July 5, 2015 the Penticton Pistoleras ladies roller derby team took on the Sun City Sirens of Kelowna in The Battle of the Jams at Summerland Arena.

The Pistoleras wanted to donate proceeds of their 50/50 draw to a local Summerland organization. One of the ladies was aware of Agur Lake Camp Society and the work they do operating and enhancing a barrier free wilderness camp for children and adults with special needs and their families/caregivers. The team chose Agur Lake Camp as their charity of choice for that match.

The 50/50 draw brought in $250 for the team and camp each.

Mirjana Komljenovic Agur Lake Camp Society Administrator was on hand at a Pistolera practice to receive the cheque.

“Thanks to all the spectators and the amazing ladies from the Penticton Pistoleras for helping to create lasting memories for those with special needs at a place like no other, Agur Lake Camp,” said Komljenovic.
