The Penticton Potters' Guild is once again raising funds with their ceramic poppies.

The Penticton Potters’ Guild almost tripled the amount raised for the local branch of the Royal Canadian Legion with its annual fundraiser.

Members of the guild handmade unique ceramic poppies that were sold by donation at local businesses and craft fairs.

The net proceeds from this year's fundraiser added up to $2,837.50, which supports the Legion's Poppy campaign.

"We are all grateful to live in a community with such a generous spirit," said Viv McElgunn-Lieskovsky on behalf of the guild.

The amount raised is almost triple the proceeds that were donated to the Legion in 2023. That year's ceramic poppy fundraiser provided $965 for the Penticton Legion's Poppy campaign.

The Penticton Potters’ Guild also thanked its members who created the ceramic poppies and the Dragon’s Den and Softy’s Shoes for hosting the poppies for sale.
