Penticton Regional Hospital welcomes New Year’s Baby Girl

Penticton Regional Hospital welcomed a New Year’s baby girl to the world at 6:52 a.m. on Jan. 1.

Interior Health confirmed that she weighs eight pounds and three ounces, and has a six-year-old brother.

Penticton’s baby is the fourth New Year’s girl in the Interior, with Kelowna having the first at 1:22 a.m., followed by Kamloops at 1:47 and Vernon at 2:37 a.m.

The first baby in B.C. was born 21 minutes into 2021 at Women’s Hospital in Vancouver.
