A banner raised to celebrate the 1947 class of Penticton Secondary School will be used to celebrate future classes for years to come.

The class of ‘47 donated the homecoming banner to the Shatford Centre to be used for future reunions.

The banner reads ‘Welcome to All Grads & Classmates’ and has the former Pen High logo, PHS.

“This lovely banner was designed and made by Pen High grad, Doreen (Agnew) Williams, for the 50th reunion of the class of 1947, which was held in 1997. It is our dearest hope that it will be part of Pen High reunions held at the Shatford Centre,” said Jean (Sutherland) Duncan.

During 2018, there were five reunions (1958, 1968, 1978, 1998 and 2008) and the banner was hanging at each of them, in its place of honour, at the centre of the Shatford auditorium stage.
