Tim Horton’s on Channel Parkway in Penticton has some local star power and a championship trophy to bolster their Camp Day Wednesday.
Penticton Vees’ Josh Niedermayer brought the Fred Page Cup to the Tim Horton’s drive-thru to help with donations to Tims Camps.
Wednesday, July 13, is Tim Hortons Camp Day when 100 per cent of proceeds from hot and iced coffee go to sending youth from underserved communities to Tims Camps. Tims guests can also support the Tim Hortons Foundation Camps by purchasing a Camp Day bracelet for $2 in one of four colours, or a pair of red and white camp-themed socks for $5, with net proceeds supporting Tims Camps.
Tim’s employees were handing out suckers to those who donated to all the Tim Horton’s locations in South Okanagan.
Camp Day has raised over $225 million in its 30-year history and has helped Tim Hortons Foundation Camps support more than 300,000 youth between the ages of 12 to 16 through a multi-year camp-based program.
Niedermayer, a Vees defenceman, was part of the 2022 championship team who swept the Nanaimo Clippers in B.C. Hockey League Finals to win the Fred Page Cup. His dad Scott Niedermayer has won several Stanley Cups and Olympic gold medals.
Josh has committed to Arizona State University — the same place where his brother, Jackson, currently plays.
