Three Penticton residents took top prizes in the Agur Lake Camp Society’s fundraiser ball drop.
A helicopter from Topflight dropped the balls from over 100 feet above the grass, finding the marked target despite the cold wind blowing through the park.
The three winning golf balls landed closest to the target marker set up in Dale Meadows Park in Summerland; out of 852.
James Jarvis was the closest to the centre marker of the three winners, and receives the $2,000 grand prize; Chris Jones receives the $1,000 second-place prize; and Victor Sprancis the $500 prize for third-closest.
The funds from the purchase of the raffle tickets and corresponding golf balls benefit Agur Lake Camp, British Columbia’s only barrier-free wilderness camp.
The camp, west of Summerland, has wheelchair-accessible cabins, docks, trails, picnic pavilion and fire pit area.
