A circa 1960 photo of O’Connell School on Jermyn Avenue (KVR middle school today) showing one of the original army hut classrooms and an Airstream trailer gathering in the playing field.

The army huts were purchased in 1948 from the Vernon Army Camp and brought down by barge to Penticton.

These two “H” formation buildings became known as the Jermyn Avenue School.
