Mechanical issues continue to plague Penticton Community Centre’s leisure pool which has remained closed for over two weeks.

The leisure pool, which includes the lazy river, shallow hot tub and a few small slides and waterslide, started experiencing difficulties Sept. 14, closing the pool.

Work continues to fix the unplanned mechanical issue, said city staff on Friday.

Swim lessons will not be impacted by the closure and the main pool remains open for public swims.

Penticton’s Community Centre’s aquatic facilities underwent their annual maintenance and cleaning Aug. 14 to 29, and reopened Aug. 30.

The new aquatic centre opened in 2011, replacing an aged facility with modern pools and hot tubs and lazy river.
