Penticton’s Lobster on the Run selling fast

Drive-thru dinner takes place Aug. 14 with proceeds going to new splash pad at Skaha Lake

It’s almost lobster time here in Penticton, and those succulent Nova Scotia delicacies are going fast, all for a great, local cause.

This year’s Lobster on the Run is already 70 per cent sold out, said the Penticton Rotary Club.

The drive-thru culinary experience returns Aug. 14 from 2 to 7:30 p.m. at Bogner’s Restaurant on Eckhart Avenue West, delivering the Nova Scotia delicacy.

All proceeds will go toward rebuilding the Skaha Lake Park Children’s Splash Pad. Last year’s drive-thru event raised $46,000.

The existing Skaha Lake Rotary Spray Park was built by Rotary in 1997. It has been a fun, family-oriented location for locals and visitors to have fun in our community.

From broken equipment to cracked asphalt and more, it is now becoming more unsafe as each season passes. In partnership with the City of Penticton, Rotary has committed $150,000 to build an updated, safe and fun splash park that will last for years to come.

You can also get in on our 50-50 draw and bid on great prizes in our online auction featuring so many good prizes including go-carting at Area 27, local gift baskets, vacations, local wine, a diamond ring, golf shirts and golf and gift card.

Auction goes until Aug. 31. Check it out here.
