Saturday was the Super Bowl for Kelowna’s comic and pop culture fans.
On Nov. 18, the rescheduled ComiCon took place at the Rutland Centennial Hall, giving hundreds of fans a chance to interact with other people in the community, find new collectables and cosplay as their favourite characters.
Some of the characters attendees cos-played as were Darth Vader, Princess Peach, and many more of their favourite characters from movies, television shows, and video games.
Attendees also got the chance to meet actor Michael Cudlitz, who’s best known for his role as Abraham Ford in the television series The Walking Dead. Cudlitz took photos, signed autographs, and interacted with the crowd from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
The hall was filled with vendors who had many items for sale ranging from Pop Figures, to amine items, to Barbie water bottles and even cutting boards with characters carved in them including Baby Yoda, Mario, and Spongebob Squarepants.
This event was originally scheduled to take place in late August but was postponed because of the Grouse Complex of wildfires.
