Those interested in running as an electoral area director have a chance this month to learn more about the job ahead of the upcoming local election.

The Regional District of Okanagan-Similkameen is hosting a pre-candidate discussion event on June 14 in Penticton to provide information about the role of an elected official.

Staff from the regional district will be present and available to answer any questions.

The upcoming local election on Oct. 15 will see nine electoral director positions up for grabs.

Community members who plan on attending the event can do so in person at the RDOS office on 101 Martin Street in Penticton or virtually by visiting the region’s meeting link.

The June 14 gathering will begin at 7 p.m.
