The Regional District of Okanagan-Similkameen (RDOS) is getting into the spirit of Recreation Month this June by hosting a pair of open-house events in Keremeos and Okanagan Falls.

The benefits of recreation are highlighted across Canada every June and in 2022, the RDOS is using the occasion to promote the various activities they offer to community members.

Keremeos’ Similkameen Recreation Centre and the Okanagan Falls Recreation Centre will host activity-themed open house events on June 11 and June 16, respectively.

“The RDOS offers a wide variety of recreation programs and services for people of all ages,” said Mark Pendergraft, the region’s chair. “RDOS recreation facilities, including those in the Similkameen and Okanagan Falls, are also important community gathering places.”

Recreational services offered by the region will be on display in both communities, with local initiatives like FireSmart, emergency services and water conservation programs also set to be highlighted.

The open house in Keremeos will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on June 11, while the event in Okanagan Falls is scheduled five days later from 2:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Free food and interactive activities will also be included in the events.
