Easter came early to Good Samaritan’s Village by the Station.

Jackey Zellweger and Susan Byrom, staff members of Valley First, a division of First West Credit Union, delivered 140 handmade Easter cards and chocolates to give to the residents and tenants. The pair are taking part in Valley First’s 25 Acts of Kindness campaign.

“This is an amazing contribution to brighten our residents and tenants’ Easter and so very much appreciated,” said Andrea Jones, recreation and volunteer coordinator at Village by the Station.

Resident Ken Stewart showed off just a small sampling of all the hand made cards that were delivered.

At Christmas time, Penticton students made cards for the residents with hand-written notes in them.

Also at Christmas, London Drugs staff came by to deliver dozens of gifts raised through London Drug’s annual Stocking Stuffers for Seniors Program, also known as the “Wish Tree” by many locals.
