The Rotary Club of Penticton's annual lobster feast is set to feed funds to upgrades for the oncology department at the local hospital.

The annual event will be held once again at the Penticton Yacht Club, this time on Sept. 21.

In the past, the fundraiser has put proceeds towards projects like upgrades to the Skaha Lake Park splash pad, which was originally built with Rotary funding.

Funds raised from this year's event will directly benefit the ongoing efforts to enhance oncology services at Penticton Regional Hospital, ensuring that cancer patients receive the best possible care closer to home.

"This event is not only a celebration of community and camaraderie but also a vital fundraiser for our local hospital. Every ticket sold and every donation made will contribute to improving the lives of those battling cancer in our community," said Karla Ziegler, event co-chair.

Guests can look forward to a feast featuring fresh Atlantic lobster, accompanied by a selection of gourmet dishes provided by Chef Darin Patterson.

The evening will also feature live music from Dixie Fried Hep Katz against the backdrop of Okanagan Lake.

An online silent auction with an array of items donated by local businesses and supporters as well as a live auction will be held alongside the feast.

"The support from our sponsors, volunteers, and attendees is what makes this event so impactful," said Ziegler. "Together, we can make a real difference in the lives of cancer patients and their families."

Tickets for the Rotary Club of Penticton Lobster Feast are available for purchase now, and early reservations are encouraged as this event sells out quickly.
