At the regular monthly meeting of the Skaha Kennel Club on June 26, a presentation to the Animal Lifeline Emergency Response Team (ALERT) was made in the amount of $500.

The club was pleased to recognize the emergency animal rescue work of ALERT during the 2017 wildfire season. In addition to responses in the Central Okanagan, ALERT received a number of dogs from Williams Lake for an extended time during last summer. Most of the dogs that arrived in Penticton were considered “special care” and required unique handling and accommodations.

The Skaha Kennel Club raises funds through their dog shows. The next show is the 2018 Annual All Breed Show held Aug. 31 through to Sept. 3, at the Dale Meadows Park in Summerland.
