South Okanagan kicks off Fall Wine Festival

The annual Festival of the Grape attracted nearly 5,000 visitors from far and wine to Oliver.

They came by the thousands once again this year to enjoy the sunshine, food, fun and fine wines at one of Oliver’s most anticipated events of the year, the 23rd annual Festival of the Grape.

Hosted by the Oliver Tourism Association, the crowd this year was estimated to be nearly 5,000 with more than 50 wineries setting up tasting booths throughout the grounds of Oliver Community Park.

Along with a special kids zone and art show and sale the festival had a little something for everyone.

Always one of the highlights, this time around there were 24 teams (another sell out) that did battle for the honour of being the best grape stompers with a secondary prize for best costume.

That included teams from overseas and other provinces in the event which is also the kick off to the Fall Wine Festival.
