Winter isn’t quite over yet, but spring is only a few weeks away, and the weather is gradually getting warmer.

Putting all that together, it’s time for the Recreation Penticton to release their new spring and summer recreation guide, available now on penticton.ca or if you are looking for a more traditional publication, the City of Penticton says most residents will receive a copy on March 8, the same day general registration begins.

Programs for this year include a number on the water, including stand-up paddle boarding, kayaking and dragon boating. The guide also includes an article on water safety, with tips to safely enjoy yourself in our lakes.

If you are more into indoor water activities, the community centre pool offers aquatic fitness programs for all abilities along with swimming lessons.

Fitness class enthusiasts have more to choose from, with expanded yoga sessions, including Flow & Restore, Rise & Shine, Happy Medium Flow, and Chair Yoga. Or try Bodyshred Bootcamp at 6:15am in Okanagan Lake Park to kickstart your day. Fitness For Older Adults or ActivAge programs are lighter moving exercise classes tailored to the older demographic.

A cable cross machine along with other fitness accessories to improve the quality of your workout has been added to the Community Centre fitness room.

Spring and summer day camps include School of Magic, Summer Survivor, Space Station Vacation and more.

Register for programs by visiting the Community Centre,325 Power St., calling 250-490-2426, or registering online at penticton.ca/recguide.

If you’re interested in access to early registration beginning March 3 or discounts on memberships and programs, contact the Community Centre reception desk to learn how to get the Active Advantage program.
