JOHN ARENDT SUNDAY MARKETS The Summerland Sunday Markets, held on Main Street each Sunday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. will feature an assortment of produce, crafts, nonprofit organizations and more.

The Summerland Sunday Markets will open for the season on June 11.

Laurel Burnham, market manager, said at least 30 to 40 vendors are expected for the first market day of the season.

“It’s going to be a good mix of local folks,” she said.

Vendors include arts and crafts vendors, Main Street businesses, the Agur Lake Camp Society and other nonprofit organization.

In addition, there is a category for young entrepreneurs under the age of 12.

“Well-run markets provide an opportunity for a wide range of people looking at entrepreneurship,” Burhnam said.

Throughout the summer, musicians and entertainers will perform at the corner of Main Street and Henry Avenue from 10 a.m. to noon.

Buskers will also be present at the markets.

The markets will run each Sunday until Sept, 10 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Last year, at the peak of the season, there were around 60 vendors at the Sunday markets.
