On Sept. 1, 1980, Terry Fox had to cut his Marathon of Hope for cancer awareness short. Forty years later, on Sept. 1, 2020, Summerlanders will pick up the torch.

For the month of September, beginning on Sept. 1, those who walk, run, bike, roll or swim are asked to log their distances at any one of the sites below. A tally of the distances will be kept in the hope that Summerlanders can either help complete Terry’s Marathon of Hope with 2,637 kilometres or do the entire route at 8,000 kilometres.
