As technology and access to information continues to change, the Penticton Public Library is looking for feedback to ensure they are keeping up with the needs of the community.

“The role of libraries is changing and we need to keep pace with the innovations in the service as well as the needs of the community,” said chief librarian Heather Buzzell in a news release. “We’re developing our plan for the future and we would like to hear from residents about the direction we should take.”

Buzzell said libraries have shifted from buildings that store books to community hubs that provide access to the information and tools needed to succeed in modern life.

The public feedback survey will run until Aug. 11. It can be completed online at shapeyourcitypenticton.ca. Paper copies are provided at the library.

Two versions of the survey are available for users and non-users. Anyone who completes a survey will be entered in a draw for one of three gift cards valued at $100 each.

Results from the survey will be used to develop the 2019-2022 strategic plan.
