Teddy Bear Picnic and live music back in July at Keremeos’ Grist Mill and Gardens

The picnic is July 10 and tickets are on sale for Valdy’s concert on July 15

As B.C. heads into phase three of re-opening, the Grist Mill and Gardens have opened up ticket sales for their upcoming live concert with Canadian award-winner, Valdy.

The tickets for July 15 concert are already starting to go quickly, and there isn’t an unlimited availability for them.

“We feel comfortable with a capacity of around 150 with people all spread out over the grass,” said general manager Chris Mathieson. “They’re selling fast, and its’sgood for the musicians, it’s good for us and it’s good for the community.”

Valdy is a multiple Juno Award-winning, Canadian folk musician with a career stretching back decades. In addition to his additional musical nominations, Valdy is an Order of Canada recipient.

July 10 is also the return of the Teddy Bear Picnic to the Grist Mill. Kids who bring their stuffed friend — bear or otherwise — are welcome for free.

There will be plenty of activities going on during the picnic all day, and there’s no need to book a time or seat.

Also going ahead will be the Grist Mill’s Fall Fair, although how exactly that will look is still being determined.

Tickets for the Valdy concert are $25, with doors opening at 6 p.m. on July 15. Tickets are for sale at the Grist Mill front desk, by phone at 250-499-2888 during business hours from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. or online at www.oldgristmill.ca/event/concert-2021-valdy.
