Over $73,000 and counting was raised at the 42nd Share A Smile Telethon held Sunday evening in Penticton.
The virtual telethon was televised on Shaw Spotlight Channel 11 or Shaw Blue Curve on channel 105 on Sunday, Nov. 28 from 4 to 7 p.m. Hosted by Chad Mielke, this year’s Telethon included incredible performances and guest appearances.
“It takes a beautiful village and we are so blessed for all the service clubs, businesses, performers and volunteers who have come forward to make our Telethon so special,” said OSNS executive director Manisha Willms.
In conjunction, OSNS had their extremely popular online auction that has over 135 amazing items to bid on including staycations at our top hotels, watching the Vees in a suite, wine packages, restaurant and other food offers, bikes, spa gift certificates and so much more.

All proceeds help OSNS sustain critical treatment programs for children diagnosed with developmental delays. OSNS serves all of South Okanagan from Peachland, Summerland down to Osoyoos. The centre is based in Penticton.
Support the fundraiser by either donating to the telethon by calling 250-492-0295 or through the auction.
OSNS’s fundraising goal this year was to raise $100,000.
This comes after a historic pledge to OSNS from the owners of the South Okanagan Tim Hortons last week. The Stawarz family donated $250,000 to the child development’s new Legacy Foundation.
In the eyes of the executive director at OSNS, Manisha Willms, the pledge from the Stawarz family is a game-changer that will help kids get treated earlier than later.

Last year, even during the pandemic, the telethon raised a record amount, said Willms.
With combined donations from the Share-A-Smile-Telethon and their online auction, $81,000 was raised for the OSNS, a major boost to the organization after several of their other fundraisers last year were cancelled due to COVID-19.
