Amid the COVID-19 pandemic, signs of joy and positivity are welcome, and a Penticton organization hopes to spread this message.
The OSNS Child and Youth Development Centre, a registered not-for-profit is inviting the community to participate in a new campaign to showcase ‘we’re in this together’.
They say now more than ever, the community needs an ‘army of family and friends’ to create joy, and keep us connected.

The OSNS today (March 23) launched a new social media campaign featuring their mascot, Otis the bear.
By picking up an Otis bear from the OSNS (limited supply) individuals can then post creative ways they, alongside Otis, are making the best of the situation including supporting essential workers, and supporting each other.
Located at 550 Carmi Avenue in Penticton, the OSNS will have 100 Otis bears available for pickup.
“New clean Otis’s will be available for drive through pick-up between 11:30 am – 1:30 pm on Monday March 23rd, at the OSNS Child & Youth Development Centre,” read a release by OSNS.

Once you have an Otis bear, make sure you showcase what you, your family or your business is doing as part of the #OtisArmy.
“We want to see what Otis is up to while we are all doing our part staying at home and practicing social distancing,” explained the organization. “Have fun with your photos and social media stories. We know your creativity will create smiles - we can’t wait to see what you’ve got in store for Otis… Let’s keep our children connected and continue to show them our support during this time.”
