TwinCon is starting work on the water system extension in Osoyoos, on the east side of Highway 97.

Layout surveying and equipment mobilization starts Thursday, Feb. 18, in anticipation for construction starting in March.

Work will be starting along Highway 97, starting from the south and working towards Hummingbird Lane.

Once the highway work is complete, TwinCon, a Penticton-based company, will be moving into the side roads to continue with water main installations.

The Town of Osoyoos awarded TwinCon the contract to twinning a section of waterlines.

TwinCon Enterprises Ltd.’s bid of $2,671,950.12 for the work was the lowest of the 17 bids tendered to the town.

The price for the bid includes taxes, and a $60,000 contingency for the project.

The project entails installations of approximately 4.8 kilometres of water lines.

The Town of Osoyoos said you may experience periodic water disruptions as well as road use restrictions. The contractor will try to advise of any impacts in advance but there may be times when impacts are not planned.

Construction is expected to take approximately 36 weeks.

Questions or concerns can be forwarded to the Operational Services Department at pubworks@osoyoos.ca.
