Workshops are being held in Penticton and Keremeos to bring awareness to National Victims of Crime Awareness Week.
To explore how your voice can help, the South Okanagan Victim Assistance Society and partnering agencies are joining together for a language workshop presented by Dr. Linda Coates.
Coates has received international recognition for her work on the connection between violence and language in diverse settings, focusing on the importance of language used when responding to victims. She will be presenting a two-hour workshop in Keremeos on April 24 from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Keremeos Health Centre. Another workshop will be held in Penticton at Okanagan College on April 25 from 6 to 9 p.m. At both events, the first hour of the session will be for networking, the lecture/discussion will take place from 7 to 9 p.m.
