It’s going to be a busy springtime at the Venables Theatre in Oliver.

Three different performances scheduled at the venue have been pushed back to select dates in April and May amid the challenges surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic, the theatre announced on Tuesday (Jan. 25).

Shows headlined by Montreal Guitare Trio, Shaun Majumder and The Irish Rovers will now happen in the spring, as opposed to their original dates in January, February and March.

The Montreal Guitare Trio’s show in Oliver will go on May 7, after first being scheduled for Jan. 28. The guitar ensemble, presented by the South Okanagan Concert Society, is described by the Venables Theatre as one where “humour and interacting with the public go hand in hand.”

The trio has performed for over 20 years at venues across the world, including at the legendary BB King Blues Club in New York City, NY.

The second rescheduled show at the theatre features Majumder, a comedian and actor. It’s a show that was originally set for Feb. 19 before being moved to its new date on May 15. The comedian will present his newest standup show, titled The Love Tour, to Oliver.

The Irish Rovers were the third Venables Theatre performance to be rescheduled on Tuesday.

The group, formed in 1963, has represented Canada at five World Expos and was recently honoured as one of Ireland’s greatest exports. Their performance in Oliver, originally scheduled for March 15, will now go on April 11.

Tickets for the three individual shows range from $27.50-to $55:

• Montreal Guitare Trio: $27.50

• Shaun Majumder, The Love Tour: $35

• The Irish Rovers: $55

People interested in attending the performances are asked to visit Venables Theatre’s website.
