Halloween lovers in the South Okanagan have no excuses not to celebrate the occasion this year, thanks to several planned events and gatherings starting Friday night, Oct. 28.
‘Spooktacular’ bike ride through Penticton (Oct. 28)
Penticton and Area Cycling Association’s annual Halloween family-friendly bike ride returns Friday, with participants expected to meet at the city’s public library at 5:30 p.m.
Cyclists will ride along Penticton’s newest completed section of the bike lane.
People are encouraged to dress up themselves, or even their bikes, for the occasion.

Haunted Hill Walk in Summerland (Oct. 28 to 31)
“Never sleep again” after a walk through the Wildhorse Mountain Ranch in Summerland all weekend long.
The ranch hosts a Halloween-themed event, with a portion of the proceeds set to go to the South Okanagan Children’s Charity.
The “bring your kids walk” goes from 4 to 6 p.m., with the “never sleep again walk” scheduled for 6 to 10 p.m. on Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday.

The Rocky Horror Picture Show Party (Oct. 29)
Highway 97 Brewing in Penticton hosts musician Mason Burns for a Rocky Horror Picture-themed show.
Music, written especially for the occasion, as well as cocktails and prizes headline the night.
Doors open at 6 p.m.

Discovery House’s fall dinner (Oct. 29)
Discovery House hosts its fall dinner starting at 6:30 p.m., with auctioned items like a signed Penticton Vees jersey from the 2021-2022 season up for grabs.
All proceeds will help fund the abstinence-based addiction recovery program.

The Slack Alley Zombie Apocalypse (Oct. 29 to 30)
A Call of Duty zombies-style event comes to Penticton, as interactive laser tag takes over the alley on 270 Martin Street on Saturday and Sunday.
Inside the alley, participants will face a barrage of different types of zombies, obstacles, fog, haze, lights and scary sounds.
The event runs from 12 to 10 p.m. Saturday and 12 to 6 p.m. on Sunday.

Halloween in the Park (Oct. 29 to 30)
Oliver’s Community Park and Bandshell hosts its annual Halloween event on Saturday from 3 to 7 p.m.
The gathering will feature pumpkin painting, take-home candy and a bonfire with the Oliver Fire Department at 5 p.m.
Entry is by donation.
