A man who once shared the stage with Willie Nelson and Garth Brooks is coming to Penticton next week.

Award-winning Canadian country music star Kenny Hess will perform at the city’s Highway 97 Brewing Company on July 9.

With 14 studio albums to his name, the Saskatchewan-born and B.C.-raised musician was inducted into the Canadian Country Music Hall of Fame in 2015.

“If you like country music, I promise you will enjoy the songs that wrote country music. The show is packed with songs written by some of history’s greatest artists, and I even throw in a few of my own tunes,” Hess said about his upcoming Okanagan show.

“I know one thing for sure is the entertainment is pretty good, the music is great, the venue is terrific and the beer is ice cold.”

Along with Nelson and Brooks, the Canadian performer has also toured with country-music legends George Jones, Charlie Pride and Randy Travis.

“This is a unique opportunity to watch a big-name country music artist in a quaint small venue where everyone will be close up and personal,” said the brewery’s general manager John Kapusty.

The show is promised to be intimate where everyone in attendance will feel like they have a front-row seat, Kapusty added.

For tickets, people are asked to call 250-493-0323 or to visit the brewery in advance at 200 Ellis Street.

“We expect everyone to arrive early, get settled in and enjoy this intimate show by Kenny. He will tell stories, sing songs and move the audience,” Kapusty said.

Doors open at 6 p.m.
