If you’ve been looking for love in all of the wrong places, the Barley Mill Brew Pub & Sports Bistro just might be the right place to find the one.

On April 27, the pub is hosting a no cover, stoplight party to help eligible residents find one another. Attendees are invited to wear green if they are single, yellow if their relationship status is complicated, purple if they are looking for a same sex partner and red if they are not available.

“Wear your colour — clothing, bandana, lights, stickers, hair dye, whatever you like — and join us on the dance floor,” states the Facebook event for the evening. “No tickets, no cover. Join us for a night of dancing hosted by DJ Shakes/Non-Stop Productions.”

In addition, the pub will be hosting its first Love Game that evening, to help connect one lucky bachelor or bachelorette with one of the contestants vying for their affection. The game is based on the popular TV show with the same name and has the participating bachelor or bachelorette choose a match based on either looks or personality.

“(You will get) a quick look at each of the contestants and then the personality round (starts) where the bachelor(ette) asks blind questions to their potential suitors,” said organizers. “The bachelor(ette) then must decide if he/she would like to choose their looks selection or their personality selection.”

Once the bachelor or bachelorette makes their choice, the matched couple will win a date night dinner at The Barley Mill Brew Pub & Sports Bistro and an escape room experience from Desmios Escape Rooms.

Those interested in participating in the Love Game, either as a bachelor, bachelorette or suitor, email kori@barleymillpub.com with your Facebook or Instagram profile name and a short paragraph about yourself including your age, profession, interests, what gender you are seeking and contact info. Nominations on behalf of others will also be accepted.

“The dating team here at the Barley Mill Brew Pub will match candidates and leave the rest up to the magic of the dating game,” states the event page.

According to Kori Wyborn, the pub’s marketing and events manager, the Love Game will be a regular event at the pub so if your application to participate isn’t accepted for this event, they will hold onto it for future ones.
