Some of North America’s brightest stars on the ice are coming to Penticton this holiday season.

The South Okanagan Events Centre hosts world champions and Olympic-winning figure skaters for the “Stars on Ice” on Dec. 17.

Kurt Browning, a four-time world champion for Canada, will be joined by two-time Olympic silver medalist Elvis Stojko to headline the special holiday-themed performance.

“Stars on Ice continues to be a pioneer in figure skating by offering fans throughout North America the rare opportunity to witness some of the world’s most accomplished and artistically gifted champions performing together in both individual and ensemble routines,” a press release reads.

The star-studded cast also features Canadian Jeffrey Buttle, an Olympic bronze medalist and two-time United States champion Alissa Czisny.

Kaitlyn Weaver, Andrew Poje, Kirsten Moore-Towers, Michael Marinaro, Nam Nguyen and social-media sensation Elladj Baldé will also appear in the South Okanagan this December.

Originating in the United States, the “Stars on Ice” tour was founded in 1986 by Olympic gold medalist Scott Hamilton. Since then, the show has appeared at venues across Canada, featuring some of the nation’s top figure skaters like Scott Moir and Tessa Virtue.

Tickets for the upcoming Penticton show go on sale Oct. 14 at 10 a.m.

People can get their tickets on valleyfirsttix.com or at the SOEC box office.
