Bee Gees Gold Tribute is being called the “ultimate salute” to the famed group by Oliver’s Venables Theatre. The tribute act is coming to the venue on May 14.

Oliver’s Venables Theatre is taking a trip back to 1978 this spring and giving people who missed seeing the Bee Gees or ABBA live in their prime a second chance.

A pair of tribute acts, BeeGees Gold and ABBA Revisited, will take to the South Okanagan stage on May 14 and June 2, respectively, to “recreate the magic” of the famed groups.

Both acts have appeared all across the globe, from Mexico to Dubai, according to Venables Theatre.

“ABBA Revisited recreates the magic of ABBA with authentic costumes, spectacular harmonies and note-perfect musicianship taking their audience on a musical journey back in time,” the theatre said in an announcement ahead of their June 2 show.

The tribute group will aim to honour the famed act from Sweden with authentic costumes and “note-perfect musicianship,” according to the Oliver venue.

John Acosta, Daryll Borges and Jeff Celentano make up the Bee Gees’ tribute act, with Acosta better known for his spot-on recreation of Barry Gibb. The trio will be in the South Okanagan on May 14.

The Bee Gees gained international fame in the late 1960s before its disco phase in the mid-1970s aided the band into selling over 220 million records worldwide.

Tickets for both shows are listed at $52.

The tribute artists’ shows both start at 7:30 p.m. on their respective Venables Theatre dates.

People interested in attending either of the shows are asked to visit the theatre’s website for tickets.
