The recent Cat Scootin’ Boogie pub night at Tug’s Tap House was a high steppin,’ sold out affair in support of AlleyCATS Alliance.
According to AlleyCATS volunteer Aja Jackson, about 130 people turned up for the fundraiser, generating over $5,500 for the organization’s work.
“The money of course goes to bottle feed help with feeding cats and kittens that are rescued, abandoned and lost and feral,” said Jackson. “It’s also to help to spay and neuter all the kittens before they’re adopted out and to help with fostering costs of feeding these kittens, they eat a lot and poop a lot and then there are medical bills as well.”
The Rob n’ Walker Trio of Keremeos provided the musical entertainment and many businesses and individuals donated prizes and items for the silent auction.
The next fundraiser for AlleyCATS is the Huge Book sale is on Saturday, Oct. 27 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Penticton location #9-2203 Dartmouth Dr., across from the SPCA.
There will be high rises of hard cover, paperback, fiction and non-fiction books available as well as DVD’s, VHS, magazines and more.
