The Penticton and District Arts Council is the latest recipient of gaming grant funds from the provincial government.

Penticton MLA Dan Ashton was on hand to present $27,500 in funds to the new Arts Council executive director, Vaelei Walkden-Brown and board of directors vice president Timothy Tweed.

“We have a very strong and clear vision for the future of the Penticton Arts Council as an advocate for the Penticton and district arts community. Funding such as the gaming grant from the Province of British Columbia is essential to help us to make this vision a reality, and we look forward to showing that this money will be well spent,” said Walkden-Brown. “Arts and culture are integral to the development of a strong, vibrant and prosperous city. We are encouraged by the provincial government’s continued dedication to the growth of the arts in this constituency.”

Those looking to become a member of the Arts Council can register in person at the Leir House (220 Manor Park Ave.) during office hours, or by visiting their website at www.pentictonartscouncil.com.
